Sharon Mujica

Founding Director, NC Latin American Film Festival.

Sharon Mujica, is the former director of educational outreach program for the Consortium in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at UNC and Duke, also founding director of the NC Latin American Film Festival (1986). Sharon was instrumental in the creation of the Yucatec Maya Program at the Institute for the Study of the Americas at UNC-Chapel Hill that have been training generations of Maya scholars for the past two and a half decades. Mujica, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1962 and worked in the University until 2008.  

Sharon will be opening the NCLAFF on October 20 along side Jose A. (Pepe) Vargas. She will also participate in a conversation about programing for film festivals on Wed. Oct 23. Contact us for media opportunities.
