Please join the Transnational Bodies: Disability, Illness, and Health in Latin America for our second meeting. We will convene on Friday, October 12th from 4-5 PM in Fedex Global Education Center room 1005 and light refreshments will be provided.
Two of our members will be sharing their research and we would love your feedback. Co-coordinator Tara Casebolt will be sharing data from Demographic and Health Surveys from several countries to determine the impact of disability status on family planning use amongst women of reproductive age (age 15-49). Rob Franco, who is a History PhD student at Duke, will be joining us virtually from Puebla, Mexico to share his article on Mexican disability and transgender rights activist Irina Layevska Echeverría Gaitán. If you are able to read Rob’s article prior to the meeting, you can find it here.
Students and faculty from both UNC and Duke are encouraged to attend.
