During this interactive one-day workshop, teachers will explore pressing global environmental concerns including issues related to water, climate change, mining, and environmental activism in Latin America and the Middle East. This workshop is free and open to all K-12, community college, college, and pre-service educators.

In this workshop, teachers will:
-Deepen understanding of contemporary environmental issues in the context of Latin America                      and the Middle East
-Make connections between two important world regions
-Participate in interdisciplinary and cross-regional sessions with scholars from UNC-Chapel Hill                     and Duke University
-Gain resources for teaching about global environmental challenges
