The John Hope Franklin Center for Interdisciplinary & International Studies is pleased to host the Interactive Multimedia Project Space (IMPS).  Made possible through the generous support of and collaboration between the Office of the Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Studies, Information Science + Information Studies (ISIS), the Kimberly J. Jenkins Chair in New Technologies and Society, and the John Hope Franklin Center, IMPS provides Duke University faculty, staff and students with opportunities to experiment with new modes of technology-inflected teaching, research and collaboration.

Reservations

IMPS is available to the entire Duke community for meetings, working groups, seminars and public lectures that make use of the room's unique technologies.‡ Resident units of the Franklin Center may make reservations at any time. All other interested parties must make their reservations requests no later than two weeks prior to their event (but no earlier than two months prior).

 

‡ The Franklin Center has many other spaces that can be reserved if your event does not require the technologies specific to IMPS.

 

Policies

  1. IMPS is available by reservation only.
  2. A training session is required before use. Please make arrangements at least two weeks before your event.
  3. Food is allowed in IMPS, but food service must be set up OUTSIDE the room, in the hallway.
  4. Leaving food or trash in the room will result in suspension of use privileges.
  5. Please allow ample time before your class or event to configure the space for your use.
  6. Use by student groups and classes is allowed only with instructor or Franklin Center staff supervision.
  7. BE SURE THE EQUIPMENT IS SECURED AND ROOM LOCKED at the completion of your event.
